INCI: Pogostemon Cablin Leaf Oil
Patchouli is native to large areas of Asia (India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, southern China).
It is obtained by steam distillation of the fresh leaves of the patchouli shrub (Pogostemon cablin).
Patchouli essential oil is a slightly viscous, light to dark yellow, sometimes even brownish liquid. It has a characteristic woody-balsamic fragrance with light notes of camphor.
In cosmetic production, patchouli oil is used as a fresh component and fixative for men's perfumes, oriental fragrances, woody and rose notes. It is also widely used to fragrance cosmetics and Soaps.
