Siligel™

INCI: Xanthan Gum (and) Lecithin (and) Sclerotium Gum (and) Pullulan (and) Silica

Siligel™ is a gelling agent that offers an amazing silicone-like skin feel and high electrolyte resistance due to its patented synergistic combination of phospholipids and polysaccharides. It is very easy to incorporate into O/W emulsions or aqueous formulations without lumping. It tolerates electrolyte content up to 20% and ethanol content up to 15%.
It is preservative free and environmentally friendly.

Siligel™ is also extremely well suited to suspend (hold in suspension) mineral sunscreens, pigments or exfoliating bodies. Skin feel is improved, similar to the use of silicone oils.

Processing:
Siligel™ can be processed cold or hot (max. 80°C).
The optimised composition of Siligel™ allows it to be incorporated directly into the aqueous phase by sprinkling the powder on while stirring vigorously. (Premixing in glycerine is possible) Likewise, incorporation into the water phase or at the end into the hand-warm phase.
To achieve a good result, the higher the applied shear force, the faster the gel formation and the higher the viscosity. The final viscosity will only be established after one day.

Application concentration:
Gelling agent: 0.5 - 2.0% (do not exceed 3.0%).
Stabiliser: > 0.5%
Co-emulsifier: > 0,5%
Suspension agent: > 1.2%
To improve skin feel: > 0.3%
Hair care: > 0.5%
