Essential oil peppermint

Organic-quality essential peppermint oil is a fluid that is easily moveable, colorless to yellowish-green. It has a strong, cool and characteristically minty scent. The essential oil dissolves well in alcohol (1:5, ethanol 70%), vegetable oils and other essential oils. It is almost insoluble in water. Menthol is the main ingredient of essential peppermint oil. Menthone, menthyl acetate, menthofuran, pulegon, limes, caryophyllene isomers and pinene isomers are present in lower concentrations and recent studies have shown that essential peppermint oil has strong bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal, vermicidal and anti-infectious effects. It can therefore be used for hepatitis and herpes, for example. It also promotes wound healing and can be applied directly to smaller wounds.
Essential peppermint oil is used in aromatherapy due to its stimulating and toning properties for neurovegetative dystonia (movement disorders) and asthenia (general weakness). For the application of essential peppermint oil oil baths, the use as massage oil or the fragrance lamp are recommended. The fragrance has a refreshing effect on the room air.
