This PEG-free O/W emulsifier is self-emulsifying and creates particularly pleasant velvety O/W emulsions based on olive oil. Olive Emulsifier convinces with its good dispersing and wetting properties. It forms stable, liquid crystalline structures, reduces transepidermal moisture loss and makes the skin feel light. Olive Emulsifier creates stable, easily water-soluble emulsions with moisturising and nourishing properties, even when larger amounts of oily substances are present in the formulation. Even very small amounts are sufficient to emulsify oils and other lipophilic ingredients. Olive Emulsifier can be used at low pH 3-4.
We recommend this wonderful emulsifier as an alternative to Plantasens®Natural Emulsifier HE20, which is no longer available.

Olive Emulsifier can be incorporated into the oil phase or the water phase.
In the case of a traditional formulation approach, we generally recommend
The emulsifier is added to the oil phase.
The oil and water phases are heated separately to 75-80°C. The oil phase is then slowly added to the water phase.
The oil phase is then slowly added to the water phase under a high shear homogeniser. The emulsion is cooled and stirred further.
At temperatures below 40°C, add the sensitive ingredients and continue stirring while the emulsion cools.
If necessary, adjust the pH value.
Emulsifiers: up to 30 %; compatible with all polarities
Emulsifier in %: when using 3-5% emulsifier, we recommend adding a consistency factor or a rheological additive.
When using 7% emulsifier, no consistency factor or rheological additive is required.
