Magnesium Sulfate
INCI: Magnesium Sulfate
CAS 10034-99-8
ISO 16128: NC-100% / NOC-100%
pH-value: 5,0 - 8,2
Temperature stable
Processing: Stir into the water phase
Application concentration: 0,5 – 10,0 %
Magnesium is an important trace element for the body and skin. As magnesium sulphate it has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and supports healing processes. Epsom salts thus have a positive effect on the skin's appearance. Peeling with the salt effectively removes impurities, blackheads and dead skin flakes on the body and face. At the same time, symptoms of acne and other small injuries of the skin surface heal faster. It binds water molecules and moisturises dry skin. This makes the skin not only purer, but also more supple and smoother.
In the production of a W/O, water-in-oil emulsion, a small amount of magnesium sulphate stirred into the water phase serves to stabilise the emulsion. A kind of "pressure equalisation" takes place between the water droplets. This prevents droplets from "sweating out". At the same time, magnesium sulphate acts as a natural curl enhancer in leave-in conditioners.
For emulsions and gels, non-ionic emulsifiers and/or electrolyte-tolerant gelling agents are recommended.
Natural origin (compliant with COSMOS, NaTrue). Vegan, No animal testing, non GMO, no NANO
