INCI: Polyhydroxystearic acid
Dispersun DSP-OL100 is a highly effective, natural dispersing agent for ultra-fine titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. It can significantly increase the UV absorption of sunscreens containing pigments and additionally reduce the white coloration when applied to the skin. It reduces the viscosity of dispersions significantly at dose rates of only a few percent, so that higher pigment concentrations can be used. Optical transparency and UV absorption are also significantly improved.
Dispersun DSP-OL100 is produced synthetically from fatty acids derived from vegetable oils, such as coconut, palm and castor oil sources.
For a dispersion you need:
32g MCT oil
3g Dispersun DSP-OL100
Add the Sunzinc to a tall beaker and stir with a wing stirrer. Slowly add the MCT-Öl and stir for another 3-5 minutes. Then slowly add Dispersun 100 and stir again for at least 5-10 minutes.
For a sunscreen (100g) with a SPF of 20 you now need 33g of this dispersion. Add the quantity required to the already heated fat phase and heat to the desired total temperature. Then add the water phase and homogenize all for at least 5 minutes at 7000 rotations.
