There are many causes, ranging from internal processes in the human body to environmental factors that cause oxidative stress in the skin. These include, for example, UV radiation, environmental pollution, smoking and diet. Antioxidants are used to protect our skin from radicals. They can neutralise free radicals and thus prevent damage to cell structures.
The development of effective cosmetic formulations to combat oxidative stress in the skin poses a number of challenges: Stability of active ingredients, penetration into the skin, synergies between active ingredients and long-term efficacy.

Antioxidants also play a crucial role in stabilising cosmetic products against oxidative processes. Cosmetic formulations containing oils must be protected against visual and odour degradation caused by oxidative processes.

Cosphaderm® Tocopharin addresses precisely these challenges.
The antioxidant blend, which protects both the oil phase of a formulation and the skin from oxidative stress, consists of carnosolic acid derived from rosemary, mixed tocopherols and organic sunflower oil. Cosphaderm® Tocopharin is an easy-to-integrate blend with no impact on the odour or appearance of a formulation.
In addition, the combination of the two antioxidant components within one product ensures a lower necessary concentration of active substances compared to pure tocopherol while maintaining the same antioxidant effect.
