Conditioner Green is a new cationic surfactant for hair care (conditioner, detangler). It is 100% bio-based, COSMOS and NATRUE approved and based on green chemistry principles with a very low environmental footprint (no solvent and no waste).
It is made from natural, palm-free and sustainable raw materials : betaine from beetroot and fatty alcohol from rapeseed. This surfactant outperforms synthetic alternatives with a much better environmental profile: no GHS labelling, low ecotoxicity and easily biodegradable.

For Conditioner Green to perform to its full potential, the formulation must contain a buffer solution of lactic acid and sodium lactate. This buffer solution must be added regardless of the pH conditions observed.

Buffer solution: the indispensable ally
Sodium lactate: 31.5%
Lactic acid 18.5%
Water: 50%
pH value: 4.3

Compatibilities:
Nonionic polysaccharides, oils, sodium gluconate, sodium Lactate

Incompatibilities:
xanthan gum, sodium alginate, cellulose, soda, sodium Citrate

Processing is very simple:
Heat the water and oil phase separately to 80°C and then slowly add the oil phase to the water while stirring at high speed and continue stirring for about 10 min. Prepare the buffer solution from sodium lactate and lactic acid. The use concentration of this buffer solution is basically 4 % to the total amount of your formulation (independent of the pH-value). Finally, add the preservative and possibly a fragrance.
